Information about the Driving Theory Test
Cost
The Theory Driving Test currently costs £31

FORMAT (Both parts must be passed)
The test is in two parts and last around one hour.
The first part is the Multiple Choice section.
There are a total of
50 questions - the pass mark is 43.
The best approach is to answer the questions you definitely know. Next do the ones you are fairly sure of a leave the difficult ones to the end. Once you've answered all the questions go over all of them and double check! You usually find that on re-reading the questions that a couple need changing. This could be the difference between passing and failing.

The second part is the Hazard Perception Test.
The hazard perception consists of 14 video clips about 1 minute in length. Each clip has a main developing hazard - one clip has two developing hazard - you don't know which clip it is! For each correctly timed click of the mouse on spotting the hazard 5 points are given. If you are a bit late spotting the hazard then it drops to 4 points, 3 points and the one point.
Don't worry about clicking for every hazard you see - this is good - but don't click at regular intervals otherwise you could loose points for perceived cheating.

Maximum score is 75
Pass mark is 42

You have 2 years to pass your Practical Driving Test after passing your Theory Test.
