Information about the Practical Driving Test

Cost
The Practical Driving Test currently costs £62 weekday and £75 Saturday

FORMAT (You must bring both parts of your driving licence and your Theory Test Pass Certificate)
The driving test officially lasts around 42 minutes.
First you will sign the marking sheet to confirm that the car is insured. The test is normally taken in the instructor's car so hopefully it is insured!
Next into the car park to do an eyesight check - reading a number plate at around 20 metres - your driving instructor should have already done this on your first driving lesson. You will do two maneuvers and possibly the emergency stop. The examiner won't chat too much to you - this is so you won't get too distracted.
You are allowed 15 minor faults but no major ones.
The best thing is to try and stay relaxed - although this is a lot easier said than done!

 
At the end of the driving test the examiner will tell you if you have passed or not.
If you have passed the examiner will offer to take your provisional licence off you and send it away to be exchanged for a full one. They will give you a Pass Certificate which counts as your Driving Licence until your full driving licence arrives.
If you get 6 points in the first two years you have to take your Theory Test and Practical Test again.
